The National Weather Service in Albany has issued a Hazardous Weather Outlook for northwestern Connecticut, western Massachusetts, east central New York and southern Vermont, all day, Thursday. Scattered thunderstorms are expected from Thursday afternoon through early evening. Some thunderstorms may produce gusty winds and small hail, while most of the thunderstorms are expected to be sub-severe, one or two storms with marginally severe hail and/or wind cannot be ruled out.

The DPW Superintendent is appointed by the mayor and oversees the maintenance of all city streets and parks, trash pick-up, oversight of the city's water supply and sewer system, and maintenance of the city cemetery.
