Greenville schools continue talking about a veterans tax exemption

May 03, 2018 12:02 pm
Audrey Matott reports in The Greenville Pioneer that the Greenville school district continues to discuss the Alternative Veterans Tax Exemption, but don't expect any quick action. At the board's April 9 meeting Superintendent of Schools Tammy Sutherland said that local veterans would like to take another survey of the public to see if they can avoid paying local school taxes. But the board could not decide between an electronic exit survey at the May 15 budget vote, or a ballot on the budget newsletter that could be returned, or a questionnaire at a BOE meeting. So the board will probably discuss the issue again at its 6:30 p.m. May 14 meeting. Read the full story in The Greenville Pioneer.
