Locally the Pilgrim Pipeline is proposed from Albany to New Jersey through Albany, Greene, and Ulster counties. The Constitution Pipeline is proposed through Schoharie and Delaware counties from Albany to Pennslyvania. July 10 Yoko Ono took out a full-page ad in The New York Times asking Gov. Andrew Cuomo to reject state permits for the Constitution Pipeline. The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) is taking comments for an environmental impact statement that will discuss the environmental impacts of the Northeast Energy Direct Project involving construction and operation of facilities by Tennessee Gas Pipeline Company, L.L.C. in Pennsylvania, New York, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, and Connecticut. The Commission will use this EIS in its decision-making process to determine whether the Project is, "in the public convenience and necessity." Hearings locally this week include a session at 6:30 p.m., Tue., July 14, and 7 p.m. Wed., July 15, at Birch Hill Catering, 1 Celebration Way in Castleton-on-Hudson. There's also a 7 p.m., Thu. July 16 session at the Days Inn, 160 Holiday Way in Schoharie.
