Kate Lisa is reporting for Capital Region Independent Media a bullet was found in the parking lot at the Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk athletic stadium, September 11. A student discovered the bullet after school, around 4 p.m., Albany County Sheriff Craig Apple said. School administrators immediately notified police, according to a statement from the district. "It may have been there for days," Apple said. "It was pretty roughed up. It was clearly driven over a few times." Deputies from the Sheriff's Office collected the .40-caliber cartridge and stayed on school grounds into the evening to watch over evening activities and athletic events. "The superintendent asked us to err on the side of caution and have our dogs go through the school just more for a precautionary measure," Apple said. The search failed to produce any other ammunition or evidence of a threat. Apple believes the bullet was accidentally dropped by someone using the athletic facility.
