Plan to interview officials ignites controversy

Kyle Adams reports in The Daily Mail five positions on various boards in the town of Cairo remain open as the town reorganizes itself for the new year. At least two of the positions — chairman of the board of appeals and president of the library board of trustees — have generated some controversy as the town board insists on long-time members undergoing a fair interview process for the positions. Town Supervisor Ted Banta said it was not his intention to remove people from those positions.
