Music from around the world is featured. Bringing the audience into the realm of other cultures through music, hopefully expanding empathy for the “other,” and recognizing that “other” in ourselves. This week: In this show we explore some of the music that was popular in Ghana from the late 1960s to the early 1980s. Music that again shows the cross fertilization that took place between African traditions and hybrid African derived music from the West such as jazz, blues, funk, soul etc.
