Tyree wins Taghkanic Town Supervisor race

Joe Gentile is reporting in the Register Star Democrat Larry Kadish conceded the Taghkanic Town Supervisor’s race to his Republican opponent, Deputy Supervisor Erik Tyree, Tues., Nov. 19. Tyree won by seven votes, 296 to 289. The contest was too close to call on election night. Tyree said, “I have a great respect for Larry Kadish, and I’m looking forward to working with him and working with our Town Board."In Chatham, residents will have to wait a little longer to learn the identity of their second Town Board member-elect. As a result of the unofficial, preliminary absentee ballot count at the Columbia County Board of Elections, Tuesday, incumbent Republican Maria Lull gained a two-vote lead over Democrat challenger Landra Haber. That count is expected to be completed and the winner identified within a matter of days.
