Today’s forecast is specific to Catskill, in Greene County:


The National Weather Service in Albany has issued a Flood Watch effective Wednesday night through Thursday morning for the Capital District and Mid-Hudson Valley. A large, slow-moving low pressure system will impact the area resulting in widespread showers. The heaviest rainfall is expected late Wednesday afternoon and evening. Total rainfall amounts of one to three inches are expected Wednesday night through Thursday. The higher totals are expected to the south and east of the Capital District, with locally higher amounts up to four inches possible in the eastern Catskills. Minor flooding of rivers and streams is possible with flooding of poor drainage, urban and low-lying areas likely with the heavy rainfall.


Today: Periods of rain. High near 49. Chance of precipitation is 100 percent. Wednesday night, rain with thunderstorm also possible after 2 a.m. Some of the storms could produce heavy rainfall. Low around 48. Chance of precipitation is 100 percent. New rainfall amounts between 1 and 2 inches possible.

Thursday: Showers and possibly a thunderstorm, mainly before noon, then a chance of showers and thunderstorms after noon. High near 72. Chance of precipitation is 80 percent. Thursday night, scattered showers and thunderstorms before 8 p.m., then isolated showers between 8 p.m. and 9 p.m. Mostly cloudy. Low around 45.
Friday: Scattered showers after 1 p.m. Partly sunny. High near 66. Friday night, scattered showers, mainly before 7pm. Mostly cloudy. Low around 43.
