Oct 18, 2016 6:00 am

Rick Karlin is reporting at Capitol Confidential the legislative pay hearing scheduled for Tue., Oct. 18, has been cancelled. No more than one or two members of the public, and no lawmakers had signed up to testify at the inquiry into a potential pay raise for lawmakers. State lawmakers have not had a raise since 1998. During the panel's last meeting, members appeared deadlocked on whether a pay increase they should be recommended. The Commission is slated to meet Oct. 27, and then offer its recommendations by Nov. 15, a week after the general election. Read the full story at Capitol Confidential, a Times Union blog.
