Rick Karlin is reporting at Capitol Confidential WalletHub, which puts out a variety of economic measurements and surveys, is offering a look at the efficiency of U.S. schools. The website calculated a school's efficiency by measuring fourth and eighth grade test scores and pitting that data against the cost per-student. They made adjustments for poverty, median income, single parent families and families where English is not the primary language. Five of the 10 least-efficient school systems nationwide were located in New York, with Syracuse, New York, Buffalo, Yonkers and Rochester taking those low spots.
