Hallenbeck looking at residential parking permits

Katie Kocijanski reported in the Register Star Hudson Mayor William H. Hallenbeck Jr. is looking to move forward with some sort of residential parking permit system. Provoked to act as a result of an increasing parking problem along Columbia St., near Columbia Memorial Hospital. Due to a recent change in hospital policy concerning its parking garage, hospital employees now park along Columbia and Prospect streets. As a result, Hallenbeck said, residents are having a harder time finding spots of their own. Under the local law envisioned by the mayor, parking permits would be available for purchase for $20 to $25, and be issued on a yearly basis. Hallenbeck is currently in conversation with Alderman Bart Delaney Jr. and Common Council Legal Committee Chairman John Friedman about the idea.
