Barrett lead increasing with absentee votes

Arthur Cusano of the Register-Star is reporting that incumbent Didi Barrett's slight edge over Republican Mike Kelsey in the 106th Assembly race has increased during the vote count Thu., Nov. 20. Barrett was ahead by just 139 votes after election night. So far, the Dutchess County-based Democrat picked up 83 votes in in here home county. Ballot counting is still ongoing in Columbia County, Cusano reports, with Barrett winning the absentees there 277 to 147 for Kelsey, a Salt Point-based attorney. Reportedly, 126 ballots have been set aside due to objections from the candidates: 108 from Kelsey, 15 from Barrett, and three by both sides. Read the full story in the Register-Star.
