Jim Planck is reporting in The Daily Mail the Catskill Waterfront Resilience Task Force is seeking feedback on its plans to reduce flood risk in and around the village of Catskill. The task force will present its recommendations for immediate action to reduce risks from floods, plus a long-term resiliency plan to the public next week. Village President Vincent Seeley said the plan includes zoning recommendations for the waterfront, bank stabilization advice and the creation of a handbook containing information on steps to take in the event of a flood. Seeley urged all interested parties to attend, stressing the importance of getting feedback from the community. The task force report will eventually be made available online, and at the Catskill Library, as well. The task force presentation is scheduled to take place 7 p.m., Tues., Aug. 19 at the Washington Irving Senior Center located on Academy St. in Catskill. Read the full story in The Daily Mail.
