Kingston to keep meetings accessible online

Ariél Zangla reports for the Daily Freeman that Kingston will continue to let citizens watch its public meetings from afar. The Kingston Common Council voted 6-0 June 10 to spend $90,000 on audio/visual equipment to livestream meetings and for remote meeting capabilities. "We have discovered through the COVID crisis that there's more than one way to do community. We can do it in person, as we've done for many, many years, but we've also discovered that it's completely viable to do it virtually and that many people experience this in a way that they've never experienced it before," said Council Majority Leader Reynolds Scott-Childress. Kingston is currently streaming meetings online, and not holding them in-person, but that is expected to change soon. Read more about this story in the Daily Freeman.
