Vedder Library to charge research fee

Dec 13, 2016 6:30 am

Daniel Zuckerman is reporting in The Daily Mail beginning January 3, researchers using the Vedder Research Library in Coxsackie will be charged $5 per day. The fee proceeds will be used to offset operating costs, specifically the library’s heat, electric and security bills. Greene County Historical Society President Robert Hallock said the library receives a large number of visitors from outside the county, and outside the state. "In a perfect world we wouldn’t charge anything. It was just a matter of economics," Hallock said. Members of the historical society will not be charged for research. Hallock said society-sponsored events at the library will remain free. Read the full story in The Daily Mail.
