Today’s forecast is specific to Catskill, in Greene County:


The National Weather Service in Albany has declared a Winter Weather Advisory for sleet, freezing rain and snow in the Mid-Hudson Valley, Taconics, southern Berkshires and Litchfield County, effective 6 p.m., Wed., Mar. 12 through 11 a.m., Thurs., Mar. 13. Snow and sleet accumulations of two to four inches, and ice accumulations of up to a tenth of an inch are expected. Rain will transition to mixed precipitation of sleet and freezing rain early Wednesday evening, with a changeover to snow before midnight. The snow will taper off to snow showers early Thursday morning. A flash freeze is likely as temperatures rapidly drop Wednesday evening. Roads may quickly freeze as the colder air pushes in making travel hazardous; snow will make matters worse. Northerly winds of 10 to 20 mph will increase to 15 to 25 mph, with gusts up to 35 mph possible, Wednesday night.

Chance of precipitation is 100 percent. Little or no ice accumulation expected. New snow and sleet accumulation of 2 to 4 inches possible.
