Today’s forecast is specific to Catskill, in Greene County:
The National Weather Service in Albany has issued a Winter Storm Warning from 1 p.m., Mon., Jan. 26 to 1 a.m., Wed., Jan. 28, for heavy snow throughout the WGXC listening area, including the eastern Catskills, Mid-Hudson Valley, Taconics and Berkshires. A total snow accumulation of 12 to 18 inches is expected, with a maximum snowfall rate of 2 to 3 inches per hour. The storm will move in Monday afternoon, and the snowfall will be heavy at times from Monday night into Tuesday, before gradually tapering off late Tuesday night. Very dangerous travel conditions are forecast due to snow-covered roadways and low visibility. Some blowing snow and drifting snow will also be likely.
Today: Snow likely, mainly after 4 p.m. Cloudy. High near 21. Chance of precipitation is 70 percent. Total daytime snow accumulation of less than one inch possible. Monday night, snow.
