The Daily Mail is reporting Alice Schubert of Coxsackie, has been named 2013 Greene County Senior Citizen of the Year by the Greene County Legislature. Schubert, 90, was presented the award by Legislator Larry Gardner, at a meeting of the full Legislature, Wed., May 15. She was commended for her more than 25 years of work as a volunteer at the Greene County Department for the Aging, the Athens Rivertown Thrift Shop, the DR Evarts Library in Athens and as a board member of the Rivertown Housing Association. Greene County Legislature Chairman Wayne Speenburgh said. “She’s a wonderful lady, she gives a tremendous amount of time.”
