Palatine supervisor to run against Amedore
Charlie Holmes is reporting in The Daily Mail Sara Niccoli, a Democrat and the town supervisor in Palatine, Montgomery County, has announced she will run against Republican, first-term state Sen. George Amedore in November. Niccoli said she intends to file by the campaign finance deadline on Fri., Jan. 15. Niccoli grew up in the Albany area; she is a graduate of Albany High School and SUNY Albany. Niccoli and her husband raise sheep, and she is the director of the New York State Labor Religion Coalition. Niccoli is currently serving her second term as town supervisor. She said, “We really have a crushed system in government in Albany. The leader segment doesn’t necessarily serve the people of our communities. And I believe George Amedore is very much a part of that system." When asked about the possibility of facing Niccoli in the general election, Amedore said he is concentrating on doing is work for the people of the 46th Senate District, not on election politics.
