Jul 24, 2020 2:00 pm
Jeff Hunter is reporting for News10 [dot] com a drive-up food pantry in Albany gave away enough food to serve hundreds of people on Thu., July 24. Cars started to line up early for the drive-up food pantry that Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Albany, the Regional Food Bank of Northeastern New York, New York State Industries for the Disabled, Albany Housing Authority, Whitney Young Health, and Centro Civico hosted at 230 Green Street. A total of 26 pallets of food were divided up by volunteers into donation boxes and then loaded into cars or distributed to walk-up clients. The total amount handed out was enough to serve 700 people for about a week, Sister Betsy Van Deusen from Catholic Charities said. The drive this week was the third time Catholic Charities made food available at the Green Street location; another drive-up food pantry will be held there in August.
