John Mason is reporting in the Register Star Mayor William H. Hallenbeck Jr.’s plan to institute residential permit parking in the area around Columbia Memorial Hospital in Hudson is moving forward, and expanding. Hallenbeck said Thurs., May 1, he has now held meetings with the city attorneys on the proposal, and that he and Common Council President Don Moore have met with CMH Spokesman Bill Van Slyke. Van Slyke said the dialog with the Mayor's Office has been productive. He said the permit plan makes sense and the hospital would not oppose it. A residential permit would allow residents to park in the permitted areas throughout the day. Nonresidents would be limited to two hours. Hallenbeck said the attorneys said the permit plan can be accomplished by means of a local law. Read the full story in the Register Star.
