For the third straight day, the National Weather Service in Albany has issued a Heat Advisory for the region, including the Greater Capital District and the Mid-Hudson Valley, from noon until 8 p.m., September 5. Heat index values of 95 to 100 due to temperatures in the upper 80s to lower 90s and dew points in the lower 70s are expected. The combination of heat and high humidity levels pose a significant risk for heat stress or other heat-related illnesses. During the advisory, everyone is advised to drink plenty of fluids, to stay in an air-conditioned room, if at all possible, stay out of the sun and to check up on relatives and neighbors.

THURSDAY: Patchy fog in the early morning. A chance of showers, with the chance of thunderstorms by mid-morning. Otherwise, partly sunny. High near 86. Thursday night, a slight chance of showers overnight. Mostly cloudy. Low around 60.
FRIDAY: Mostly sunny. High near 75. Friday night, partly cloudy. Low around 56.
