Brian Nearing reports in the Times Union Albany-based BBL Construction Services will build the planned resort hotel at Catamount Ski Area in Copake. Plans for the Berkshire Mountain Club call for a three-phase, four- to five-story project with 159 units in an area currently used for parking and maintenance at the base of the ski mountain. The facility would operate as a upscale hotel, with amenities including a spa, swimming pool, fitness center, restaurant, retail space and conference center. Units would be sold, either in fractions as small as a fifth, or as a whole. Construction of the first phase is expected to begin in the spring, and 66 units should be ready for occupancy by July 2016. A special use permit application for the development is currently pending with Copake town officials. No units have been pre-sold. The project is being developed by Rock Solid Development, BBL and Catamount Ski Resort. Read the full story in the Times Union.
