Trustco Bank starts COVID-19 personal loan program

Larry Rulison is reporting for the Times Union Trustco Bank has created a special short-term loan program for customers running short on cash during the coronavirus pandemic. The bank announced April 21, it is offering short-term personal loans of up to $5,000 as part of a special COVID-19 financial relief program. The program will also help customers modify or defer consumer and commercial loans if needed. Trustco is also working with the U.S. Small Business Administration to offer loans to small businesses through the Paycheck Protection Program. Trustco has also created a COVID-19 Fund that will donate time and financial support to organizations dealing with the pandemic. The bank's parent company recently revealed its quarterly earnings have declined more than $1 million since last year. Trustco is the region's largest local bank with offices 148 offices in New York, New Jersey, Vermont, Massachusetts and Florida. Read the full story in the Times Union.
