The day ahead at WGXC: Programming notes

12 p.m. (noon): The Schoemer Show: Vetiver In celebration of the WGXC Fall Pledge drive theme Open Air, Vetiver will stop by the WGXC Hudson studio for an interview and live acoustic performance in advance of the band's show that evening at Helsinki Hudson.
2 p.m.: Work Show Host and producer Paul Smart looks into the sometimes delicate and usually rewarding interplay between volunteer and spec work and paying jobs, especially as they relate to WGXC. Interviewees include writer and wordsmith Deborah Artman, a regular interviewee of Catskill-area artists for the station; station manager Lynn Sloneker, and music producer and writer Karen Schoemer (whose show precedes the Work Show.
4 p.m.: WGXC Afternoon Show: Sam Alvarez from the Catskill Public Library will join us for a conversation on the challenges that face libraries in a digital age of limited public funding. Plus news, events and music from Jill Sutton, Peter Krug, and Ron Diamondstein live from the Catskill Community Center.
9 p.m.:  Live from the Red Dot Open Mic: Open Air Pledge Drive How better to embrace Open Air than by sharing tunes and tricks at the Red Dot Open Mic? Tune in or turn out to listen or contribute your own sounds for this special pledge drive edition of live at the Red Dot Open Mic.
