Contract with transfer station workers approved

Ryan Anglim is reporting in The Daily Mail Greene County has reached an agreement with employees who work at the county's four solid waste transfer stations. The workers are represented by Greene County Public Employees, Teamsters Local 294. The union approved the four-year contract on Feb. 11. The Greene County Legislature ratified the agreement, Wed., Feb. 18. The contract is retroactive to Jan. 1, 2013, and it will expire Dec. 31, 2016. It includes a two-percent wage adjustment retroactive to Jan. 1, which is contingent upon the union's change in health care coverage. The contract provides for a 2.5 percent wage adjustment in 2016, as well. Workers will also receive additional time off in the coming year, and employees who use their personal vehicles for making bank deposits on behalf of the transfer stations will now receive a mileage reimbursement. Transfer stations in Greene County are located in Catskill, Coxsackie, Hunter and Windham. Read the full story in The Daily Mail.
