Lissa Harris reports in the Watershed Post the Sullivan County town of Bethel unanimously passed a law banning hydraulic fracturing within town borders Thurs., Apr. 27, making it the third (and largest) town in that county to ban the practice. Harris also reports news publisher Gannett recently produced an interactive map showing the nearly 100 New York State towns and cities that have passed laws to ban or delay hydraulic fracturing, as of April 12. Bethel is not yet on the map, nor is Germantown, which approved an 18-month moratorium, April 16. Read the full story and link to the map at the Watershed Post.
