Valatie board to consider health study resolution

Barbara Reina is reporting in the Register Star the Valatie Village Board is considering a draft resolution in opposition to the discharge of treated toxins into the Valatie Kill from the water treatment plant at the Dewey Loeffel Landfill until a comprehensive public health study is conducted by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. Mayor Diane Argyle requested the board consider the resolution to be adopted by the board next month. The Kinderhook Town Board passed a resolution earlier this week requesting a comprehensive EPA public health study before any treated toxins are discharged. The Columbia County Board of Supervisors passed a similar resolution last week. Read the full story in the Register Star.
