Kyle Adams reports in The Daily Mail Meadow Fields Apartments will withdraw its application for a senior housing complex in the town of Cairo, according to the company’s attorney. The company is completely frustrated with the town, Attorney Michael Esslie said. The developer has experienced nothing but harassment since the process began, he said. Meadow Fields proposed to convert a former resort on Mountain Ave. in Purling into senior housing. The company was in talks with the town planning board when a six-month moratorium on development went into effect. The town renewed the moratorium for an additional six months in December. “I have to make decisions that work in the best interest of the entire community,” Town Supervisor Ted Banta told the paper. Meadow Fields is now considering Coxsackie or Catskill as potential locations. The fate of the Purling property is unknown. Read the full story in The Daily Mail.
