DWI impact panels to return to Columbia Co.

Joe Gentile is reporting in the Register Star the first DWI Victim Impact Panel to be held in Columbia County in almost 10 years is scheduled for Nov. 6. In a statement released Thurs., July 24, Columbia County Stop DWI Coordinator Reginald Crowley called the panels “a valuable tool” in helping to reduce the number of repeat drunk-driving offenders. The panels provide a forum for speakers to share the impact drunk driving has had on their lives, friends and families. Offenders pay anywhere from $50 t0 $75 to attend the panel. The program was jointly organized by the Columbia County District Attorney’s Office, Probation Department, Sheriff’s Department and the Hudson Police Department.
