The National Weather Service is reporting the bitter, cold weather continues. The area remains under the grip of an arctic air mass. In addition to the cold temperatures, winds will become brisk, making it feel even colder. it will be very cold again tonight. Temperatures will begin to moderate Friday.

Tips for the extreme cold:

  1. If you must go outdoors, dress in layers. Cover all exposed skin and keep dry. Be especially cautious of frostbite and hypothermia.

  2. It is recommended to keep indoor temperatures at or above 55 degrees F.

  3. Check your automobile for proper fuel, antifreeze, windshield wiper fluid and oil levels.

  4. Be especially cautious of fire places and any indoor heating device for the potential of carbon monoxide poisoning. Never use a generator inside your home.

The actors are from the Skagit Radio Repertory Company. The producer is Joseph C McGuire. Thorndyke is the original fictional forensic detective from the early 1900s. Using science to aid the art of detection to bring criminals to justice. In this story Dr Thorndyke helps the defense in figuring out the tricky problem foot prints in the mud.

4 p.m.: WGXC Afternoon Show: Winston Lee and Dr. Stephen Bergman Hudson High School Running Back, Winston Lee, wil be live in the studio to discuss his recent participation at the Blue-Grey National All-Star classic in Tampa, Florida. The show will also feature a recorded interview with ith Hudson native, author Dr. Stephen Bergman (pen name, Samuel Shem) who will talk about his book, The Spirit of the Place. He is giving a talk at the Hudson Opera House on Saturday to celebrate the launch of the paperback publication of the book, which is set in a town that bears an uncanny resemblance to Hudson. Also, Ellen Thurston's Columbia County's Calendar of Events. Co-hosted by Ellen Thurston, Richard Roth and Shannekia McIntosh.
