She talks about the different programs offered by the Affordable Housing Partnership to help people get education and resources to become homeowners. All classes are virtual now. Their Homeowners Virtual Fair is coming up on Saturday April 10th. Lenders, lawyers and advisors would be available to answer general questions such as requirements for credit, employment history, use of alternative credit, etc. For additional information about their program please visit their website at: www.ahphome.org If would like an email reminder with a link to the Fair please sign up at: ahphome.org/2021-virtual-homebuyer-fair.html. And, after years of effort to restrict solitary confinement, Gov. Cuomo signed into law a bill that will end its use in New York. This was possible this year because Democrats secured a legislative supermajority creating a situation where a veto from the governor could be overridden but Gov. Cuomo signed it just before the April 1st deadline. WOOC producer Elizabeth Press spoke with advocate and survivor Jerome Wright about the significance of ending long-term solitary confinement in New York State.
