Kisselburgh resigns; HCSD board to appoint interim member

Dec 04, 2017 7:00 am

Amanda Purcell is reporting for Columbia-Greene Media David Kisselburgh has resigned from the Hudson Board of Education, citing personal reasons, effective November 13. The board is now looking for candidates willing to fill the vacancy through the board election and budget vote in May. If the interim member chooses to run and is elected they will complete Kisselburgh's term. “It’s a great opportunity...,” Board President Carrie Otty said last week. “You can kind of get a feel for what the position is like.” The seven-member Hudson board oversees a $46 million budget. Otty said over the coming months the board will be focused on budget work, the ongoing capital project and setting policy. Otty said the decision was made to appoint a new member rather than holding a special election because it would be less costly for the district. Those interested are asked to send a "letter of explanation" to Leslie Coons, Clerk of the Board, at 215 Harry Howard Avenue in Hudson, or via email to coonsLX [at] HudsonCSD [dot] org. The deadline is close of business, December 14. The board will interview candidates as part of the December 18 board meeting, beginning at 7 p.m. in the high school library.
