The National Weather Service in Albany has issued a Flood Watch from 1 p.m., Wed., Dec. 24 through Friday morning, Dec. 26 for east central New York and western New England. A steady rain will overspread the area Wednesday and continue well into the overnight hours as a low pressure system impacts the region. The rain is expected to be heavy at times. In addition to the rainfall, there will be runoff from snow melt as temperatures rise into the 40s and 50s Wednesday afternoon and evening. The runoff may result in flooding of small streams and creeks, as well as minor flooding on some of the main stem rivers as well. Urban and poor drainage flooding is likely.
