Jimmy Vielking reports at Politico New York while Andrew Cuomo crows about what he says is New York's tough sexual harassment policies, he is being attacked from his left and his right on the issue. “We just passed the strongest government sexual harassment policy in the United States and now we’re going to bring reform to the private sector as well, because sexual harassment of women is real, it is undeniable, and this is the moment in history to make the reform and end it and end it once and for all, and New York is going to be the state to do it. It ends here and it ends now," Cuomo said recently. A federal complaint filed was filed last week against Jay Kiyonaga, who has worked in several state agencies before being fired May 30 from the Office for People with Developmental Disabilities for harassing female coworkers. “[Cuomo] thinks that by checking the box on passing legislation, it absolves what is either deliberate indifference within his own administration or the lack of understanding of how serious a problem this has been within his own government,” Molinaro said last week. Nixon said there is “a clear pattern of the Governor ignoring reports of sexual harassment against his top staff and allies.” Read the full story at Politico New York.
