Nathan Mayberg reports in the Register Star Philmont Mayor Clarence Speed and trustees Douglas Cropper and Larry Ostrander will run unopposed in village elections, March 19. All three are seeking two-year terms. Speed has served on the Village Board for more than 15 years, and took the reins as mayor in 2005. Speed is the owner of Speed’s Garage in Mellenville. Ostrander is employed by Ed Herrington Inc. as a location manager. Cropper is a retired Taconic Hills school district teacher.
