Jan 10, 2019 12:45 pm
Amanda Purcell is reporting for Columbia-Greene Media Hudson are currently weighing the boundaries of a sealed-bid process for the sale of the city-owned building at 427 Warren Street. The building formerly housed the Hudson Police Department and city courts. Under the requirements expected to be approved by the full Hudson Common Council next week, the successful bidder will be subject to a $100,000 penalty if they fail to develop the property for commercial use within one year of taking title. The buyer would also be subject to the same penalty if they sell all or part of the parcel within two years. The council late last year authorized the sale of the 7,300 square-foot building through a sealed-bid process. The structure has been vacant since April 2017. The minimum bid for the property was set at $300,000, based on the 2015 appraisal by Concra Appraisal Associates, but its full-market value in 2018 was listed at more than $714,000.
