Poll has Democrats up in statewide races

Nov 05, 2018 12:33 am
Bill Mahoney reports at Politico that the latest poll in the election for governor has incumbent Andrew Cuomo falling below 50 percent for the first time. Cuomo, a Democrat, still leads Republican Marc Molinaro 49 percent to 36 percent. Libertarian Larry Sharpe received three percent in the Siena College Research Institute poll released Nov. 4, and Green Party candidate Howie Hawkins and independent Stephanie Miner each got two percent of responses. A Siena poll released in early October had Cuomo ahead by 22 points, so though the race is not close, it may be tightening. Democrat Tish James led Republican Keith Wofford 49-37 percent in the attorney general’s election, according to the poll. Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand, an incumbent Democrat led Republican challenger Chele Farley 58-35 in the Siena poll. And for comptroller, Democrat Tom DiNapoli led Republican Jonathan Trichter 62-25 percent. The poll surveyed 641 likely voters from Oct. 28–Nov. 1, with a margin of error of 3.9 points. read the full story at Politico.
