Gambletron
GAMBLETRON is an interdisciplinary sonic performance artist and musician based out of Montréal. She is known for her noise-electronic improvisation, her extended multi AM Radio Theremin, roving radio transmitted “Field Trips” and experimental “Noise Karaoke.” She is also curator of numerous performances in unique locations, a workshop leader and community organizer. She is self taught and born out of a D.I.Y. ethic. Gambletron prides herself on being a musical scavenger collecting technical run off, figuring out ways of incorporating old, new and unlikely technology into her music. Glitch based, textural soundscapes with references to dance is generally the result, using lo-fi, circuit bent toys, found objects, home-made mics, cheap synths, radios and other types of homemade electronics.
Gambletron has toured internationally and participated in various festivals and residencies around the world. Some include the Donau Festival (AU), Nuit Sonores (FR) and Etoiles Polaires (BE). Gambletron is also known for playing the affected musical saw, amplified bike wheel, drums and synthesizer. She can be found performing and collaborating in numerous projects on Constellation Records such as Carla Bozulich’s Evangelista, Matana Robert’s Coin Coin, Hrsta, and Clues.
