Senators complain about slow broadband rollout in state

Joe Mahoney reports in The Daily Star that several upstate Republican New York State Senators are upset about the slow pace of broadband expansion. Robert Ortt, from North Tonawanda, wants a full accounting of the state's New NY Broadband $500 million spending, and how the Federal Communications Commission spent an additional $170 million in New York on broadband. Jason Conwall, a spokesperson for the Empire State Development Corp., which runs the New NY Broadband program, said it, "is not only the largest and most ambitious of its kind in the country, but also one of the most transparent economic development initiatives you will find anywhere, with all projects prominently displayed on our website."
