Dan Freedman reports in the Albany Times Union that after Special Counsel Robert Mueller's report was released April 18, local representatives Antonio Delgado and Paul Tonko have yet to comment on its content. Both Tonko and Delgado have only released statements saying they will read the report. Other New York representatives have been quicker with comments. Further south in the Hudson Valley, Rep. Sean Patrick Maloney, a Democrat, Tweeted, "'Indictable' should not be the standard by which we judge the President of the United States. Period. End of story," and also talked about the report on MSNBC April 19. To the north, Rep. Elise Stefanik, a Republican, said that Attorney General William Barr "was clear that the process was completed with a high degree of transparency, no executive privilege, limited redactions, and resulted in a report of no collusion between Russia and the Trump campaign." Senator Kirsten Gillibrand, a Democrat running for president, disagreed, Tweeting, "We can’t trust Trump’s handpicked AG to be transparent about the Mueller report. Congress needs to see it in full—and the public needs to know whether Trump obstructed justice." Senator Chuck Schumer also Tweeted, "The Mueller report shows how dense the Trump swamp is, how dishonest this president is, and how erratic this administration is."
