Columbia County's Rip Van Winkle Amateur Radio Society holds its annual Field Day operations and public demonstration from 2 p.m. on Saturday, June 23 until 2 p.m. on Sunday, June 24, at the Clavarack Town Park pavilion on Church Street in Mellenville. The public is welcome. Field Day is an educational experience, emergency-communications practice, and an informal contest. Visitors are welcome, and they will have supervised opportunities to operate radios and communicate with hams around the country.
