Last Good Tooth:
Last Good Tooth frontman Penn Sultan is inspired by his parents and grandmothers home of the mountains of NC and the old Appalachian music from the Blue Ridge area, mixed with his love and hate of New York City. Penn and Kevin met in Providence, RI at the Rhode Island School of design where they pretended to like art for a while so that they could play music for real. Then they met Spoto fiddlin’ around Brown.
Kath Bloom:
In Kath Bloom’s 1982 ballad “The Breeze/My Baby Cries,” the cult singer-songwriter’s weary voice gnaws into the listener’s hide from the very start, as she sings, “I’d like to touch you, but I’ve forgotten how.” At the same time, avant-garde blues guitarist Loren Connors stretches the worn strings of his instrument around the devastating melody.
This show will likely air on WGXC 90.7-FM, in between the WGXC fundraiser at Basilica Industrua with Woods and Black Pus.
