Hurricane remnants cause minor flooding
Sep 18, 2018 3:02 pm
The remnants of Hurricane Florence dropped one to three inches of rain over the WGXC listening area Sept. 18, with flash flood warnings in many parts of the Hudson Valley. The New York State Department of Transportation staged equipment in Cairo and other towns ahead of the storm to tackle flooding problems. The Hoosic River at Williamstown, Mass. rose to almost 10 feet above flood level after the storm passed, according to the National Weather Service in Albany, and the Chenango River got to 14 feet above flood stage near Binghamton. Here's a look at how much the radar estimated has fallen over the region, showing about 1 to 3 inches across Schoharie County & the Capital Region. Due to the tropical nature of the rainfall, actual totals were a little higher in some areas than what the radar estimated. #518wx pic.twitter.com/0rKsWjXUvk
