The day ahead on WGXC 90.7-FM
1 a.m.: Vital Weekly: Felix Kubin Episode 950 of weekly experimental new music show, by folks formerly behind Staalplaat. Click on title for playlist 950.
2 a.m.: FFFoxy Podcast: Peter Jefferies FFFoxy Podcast #44. This episode of the FFFoxy Podcast is admittedly a bit more guitar-heavy than usual. After catching some remarkable performances by the likes of Michael Chapman, Bill Orcutt, and Matthew De Gennaro at the Old Familiar Chime festival a week ago, I seem to be still working through a bit of a fascination with that instrument at the moment. Don’t worry, though, there’s a lot more than power chords and acoustic finger-pickin’ heard throughout this episode. Some of my current favorites right now include the down home folk songcraft of Village of Spaces and Wes Tirey, the distorted beats of Amalgamated and Mark Barrage, the inventive guitar stylings of Tashi Dorji and Derek Monypeny, and the archival homeruns of Owen Maercks and Peter Jefferies. There’s a lot more to check out and get excited about, too. Feel free to get in touch if you have any questions or comments.
6 a.m.: Background Briefing with Ian Masters Inside breaking international and national news. A radio program featuring international and national news, expert guests, policy makers and critics with analysis and insight on national security, foreign and domestic policy, political, cultural and social issues. This program goes far beyond the headlines and deep under the radar to bring forward truths unheard in the American media.
7 a.m.: WGXC Morning Show Local news, weather, events, music and more.
8 a.m.: Democracy Now! hosted by Amy Goodman and Juan Gonzalez. National, daily, independent, award-winning news program providing audiences with access to people and perspectives rarely heard in the U.S. corporate-sponsored media.
9 a.m.: WGXC Morning Show continues.
10 a.m.: The Right Opinion: Paul Czajka Columbia County District Attorney Paul Czajka will be the guest for the hour. Hosted by Ed Fertik.
4 p.m.: WGXC Afternoon Show
6 p.m.: Feature Story News
