4 p.m.: WGXC Afternoon Show: As It Is On Earth will feature an interview with Peter Matthiessen Wheelwright about his new novel, "As It Is On Earth". Wheelwright is an architect and associate professor at the School of Constructed Environments Parsons The New School for Design in New York City. Set in New England over seven days at the end of the Millennium 1999, "As It Is On Earth," published in September, follows a young college professor from a fallen family of Maine Puritans who is trying to come to terms with his family’s history and religious legacy. We'll also talk to Aily Nash about legendary Philippine filmmaker Kidlat Tahimik's "Perfumed Nightmare," - a semi-autobiographical fable that tells the story of Tahimik's awakening to and reaction against American cultural colonialism, screening on Thursday at the Basilica Hudson. We'll hear excerpts from the Fall Conference at the Hannah Arendt Center at Bard College, called "Does the President Matter?" Plus local headlines, events, and music, with host Sara Kendall.
