Mayor appoints panel to study North Bay

John Mason is reporting in the Register-Star Hudson Mayor Tiffany Martin Hamilton announced Tue., Apr. 5, the appointment of a new panel to study the city's North Bay. The committee will take part in a public meeting to be held Sun., May 1, to discuss the future of the North Bay area. In addition to the members of the new steering committee, representatives of the Columbia Land Conservancy and other community groups will be present for the outdoor meeting, to be held at the corner of Front and Dock streets. Subjects to be discussed include how best to utilize the land formerly occupied by the Furgary Boat Club, how to create access to the river for kayaking and fishing and the CLC's vision for the North Bay Recreation and Natural Area. The steering committee will serve as a liaison between the community, city government and the New York state Department of State, in an the effort to have the city’s Local Waterfront Revitalization Program, adopted by the Common Council in 2011, approved at the state and federal levels.
