Irene begets woodchucks this summer

As a licensed wildlife rehabilitator and founder of Friends of the Feathered & Furry Wildlife Center in Hunter, Barbara Runyan follows animal trends closely. Lately, she has seen more woodchucks, chipmunks, and red foxes, and explains that last summer's storms associated with Hurricane Irene and Tropical Storm Lee are to blame. Hudson woodchucks are getting national and international attention for their flag-stealing abilities, and a pair have moved under the deck at WGXC's Acra studio at Wave Farm.
