Greene, Columbia get a little summer youth job funding

Greene and Columbia counties both received just over $75,000 in part of Governor Andrew Cuomo's Summer Youth Employment program. But both counties didn't get much compared to their neighbors. Albany County got a half-million dollars, Dutchess County $367,264, and Rensselaer and Ulster counties both got nearly a quarter-million dollars. Employers get a subsidy in the program, for hiring young people 14 to 20 with family incomes below 200 percent of the federal poverty level (or $39,850 for a family of three). Here is the local list of funding by county.
