May 17, 2018 1:34 pm
Emilia Teasdale reports in The Columbia Paper that the the Valatie Medical Arts building now has a Greener Pathways opioid addiction response mobile site that the Twin County Recovery Services opened in April. Kinderhook Town Supervisor Pat Grattan called it “a very positive thing for our community” at the May 7 Kinderhook Town Board meeting. The program is funded by the state’s Office of Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Services for the Twin County Recovery Services to lessen the opioid addiction crisis in Columbia and Greene counties. The group opened a similar facility in Cairo last year. Greener Pathways Director Lori Torgersen, also a Greene County Legislator from Windham, said the grant funding the project is for “addressing unmet needs” in the county. Chatham Police Chief Peter Volkmann said at a May 10 Chatham Village Board meeting that Greener Pathways is working with the Chatham Cares 4U program. Read the full story in The Columbia Paper.
